Do you have a question only another nurse can handle? This is the place to post it.

I was 4 or 5 years old. I had to be admitted to the hospital for a tonsillectomy (this was a common practice back in the 50’s.) I was in the hospital for 2 or 3 days. I think I decided to become a nurse at that time. I was fascinated with the hospital, and have been since…the building and equipment, not the sickness, and “having” to go visit folks. I always considered nursing to be my avocation. From that moment on, that’s all I wanted to be. I attended nurse’s training right after HS. Then life got in the way, and I had to quit. You could NOT be married and be in training at the same time, back in the 60’s!! After I had my family, I returned to school at the age of 40, and became a nurse. Moral of this story….i have never regretted
